Production, Health and Conformation

We use the 16 trait scoring system and liaise with National Milk Records to study production and pedigree information for those herds that use NMR recording. We can source information from CIS herds who are also welcome. The importance of inbreeding should not be underestimated and our mating programme will ensure that your cows are not inbred.

Independent Breeding Advice

The Cattle Breeding Consultancy

The only truly independent hands-on breeding advice service in the UK

The Cattle Breeding Consultancy was launched in February 1992 at the National Holstein Show under its original name of JB Consultancy. Its conception came through constant farmer feedback about the overwhelming choice of Holstein sires on the market and the difficulty in sorting the hype from the facts. With over 1,000 proven bulls generally available, the choice for the dairy farmer was, and still is, completely bewildering. The intention then, as now, was to offer a completely independent breeding advice service with no influence from the semen companies or breed societies.
